Rally condemns Karachi killings |

THOUSANDS of activists of Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen and Imamia Students Organisation (ISO) on Sunday staged a rally to condemn killings of innocent people in Karachi and Muzaffarabad.
Holding banners, placards and flags, the participants of the rally chanted slogans against miscreants and subversive elements for nefarious activities against innocent citizens.
The participants condemned the target-killing of Shiites and bombings of their processions and slated the government for not taking any action to curb barbaric incidents occurring at regular intervals.
The rally started from Karbala Gaamay Shah and ended on The Mall in front of the Punjab Assembly building.
Earlier, the Chelum and Soyam of martyrs of Karachi and Muzaffarabad was held. Main speakers on the occasion included Deputy General Secretary Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen, Allama Muhammad Amin Shaheedi, Allama Abdul Khaliq Asadi, Shahid Hussain Naqvi, Mazhar Hussain Kazmi, Sheikh Shafi Najfi, Shabbir Bokhari, Abuzar Mehdi, Sakhawat Qumi, Hyder Mosovi, Ahmed Iqbal Rizvi, Asger Askari, ISO Vice President Ahsen Zaidi, Farhan Mehdi and others.
The participants condemned the failure of the concerned departments in protecting the life of citizens and also appealed to Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Mohammed Chaudhry to take suo motu of the Karachi tragedy.
Meanwhile, various resolutions were also passed to express solidarity with the terror victims and the participants also pledged to continue the mission of the martyrs against forces of evil. |
