SSP Operations Chaudhry Shafique Ahmad has awarded punishment to 11 police officers on charges of delay in case registration, abuse of power, negligence, illegal confinement and misbehaviour with citizens

SHO Gulshan Ravi Taseer Riaz detained an innocent man, Mian Amjad, and his family for one hour. He delayed registering of a case of murder attempt on the complaint of one Naeem. The SSP dismissed the SHO from service besides reduction in pay by four stages and demotion.

SHO Racecourse Javed Irshad received bribe from a citizen for registering a case. He misbehaved with the people. The SSP dismissed him from service besides forfeiture of five years service and demotion. SHO Naulakha Ejaz Ahmad delayed a case registration. The SSP demoted him from inspector to sun-inspector besides reduction in pay by three stages and forfeiture of four years service.

SHO Bhatti Gate Naveed Azam, SHO Badami Bagh Ayaz Ahmad, SHO Lower Mall Sajjad Ahmad and former SHO Hunjarwal Muhammad Younas were found involved in misbehaving with the citizens. They were each awarded punishment of reduction in pay by two stages and forfeiture of three-year service. SI Islampura Muhammad Ashraf was demoted and his one year service was forfeited over violation of discipline and inefficiency. Inspector Muhammad Ameen was demoted for not keeping the record properly and inefficiency.

The SSP dismissed from service In Charge Niaz Baig Chowki Inspector Shahzad besides forfeiture of five years service for demanding bribe from a citizen at a picket.

ASIs Saqaib and Muhammad Saqlain of Township were dismissed from service besides reduction in pay by three stages and forfeiture of two years service on charges of corruption. Saqaib received Rs 100,000 from one Nafees for recruiting one Miraj as constable while Saqlain tortured a citizen Nadim and freed him after receiving Rs 17,000 bribe.

SI Iftikhar Ahmad of Islampura and Halloki Chokwi In Charge Hassan Raza were awarded punishment of reduction in pay by two stages and forfeiture of three years service on the charges of abuse of power and dereliction of duty.
